Vasa is the only ship of the 17th century still surviving in the world.
About 95 per cent of the ship’s original parts and of the hundreds
of wooden sculpture ornaments still survive. Therefore Vasa is of a
unique artistic value and one of the most popular tourism sights throughout
the world.
The ship is exhibited in a museum built on purpose in Stockholm. Nine more exhibits connected with the main exhibits can also be seen in the museum, alongside with a shop with a big choice of goods and a restaurant of high quality of service. You can see a film about Vas in sixteen different languages. Vasa museum is visited by more people than any other Scandinavian museum. You can visit Stockholm even exclusively for Vasa’s sake.
