GALA DINNER

ESTONIA
VISITING ESTONIA

The chief of the Guild of Travel and tourism of the UK Michael Wynne-Parker (to the right on the photo down)

and a member of the Guild Peter Lyons did not restrain themselves in words of praise sharing the impressions with Executive Manager of hosting company Baltic-Breaks Travel Agency.

At the end of September a group of experts from the Guild of Travel and Tourism of the UK, invited by Baltic-Breaks Travel Agency, giving a new span to the cooperation between two countries in the domain of tourism.

The delegation of the Guild included representatives of the most important sectors of the travel industry of the UK who are interested in finding potential partners for cooperation in Estonia. British tour operators, hoteliers and restaurators, representatives of a golf club, cruise ships and media were mostly for the first time in Estonia and were pleasantly surprised by the abundancy of possibilities for cooperation and sights.

According to the chairman of the Guild Michael Wynne-Parker, the Guild of 10 000 members having its headquarters in London, unites most significant organizations and enterprises (including private enterprises) who are acting in the tourism industry.

The British, according to Wynne-Parker's evaluation, are the so called “sun worshippers” preferring warm countries. “Although Estonia has not been blessed by the sun all year round, the British have already discovered that local summer months can be compared to the Mediterranean climate-wise, here there is a lot of clean air and reasonable prices.”

“In addition, the British look for safe places and the safety is present in Estonia. There is a lot of things in common between our cultures and ways of life thus giving to the trip extra feeling of confidence and comfort”, said the chairman of the Guild. Wynne-Parker added that since at present cultural trips are gaining popularity in the world, Estonia has a very good position in terms of the abundancy of sights.

The only drawback mentioned by the members of the guild was Estonia's trailing in terms of frequency of flights and the number of destinations in comparison with big European centers as well as small number of cheap flights.
