Cozy Restaurant Oscar
and his merry band of kitchen folk have modified the menu, tweaking the
tastes and the prices just a bit (we thought they were too cheap to begin
with). Now if only they could tweak the seating so that we might occasionally
be able to find one. As in the past, we suggest reserving a table to avoid
standing at the bar, staring down the people slowly sipping away at their
cup of tea. As frustrating as it gets, the food is worth the wait.
Fairly standard international food and some interesting experiments with
cheese in a nice cellar. When flicking through the menu, remember that
there's a dessert section at the back, and not only that but it just so
happens to be a good one.
An elegant restaurant situated in a quiant cellar inside an equally charming
hotel, serving a good range of high quality international dishes alongside
a well-chosen wine menu. The meat dishes are particularly exceptional,
but do remember to leave some room for one of the legendary desserts.
Great service too.
One of the most expensive restaurants in town, which is probably why it
is so often empty. It cannot be due to its locale, situated in the very
centre of town. Having recently put the menu through a thorough taste
test, we can say with certainty that it should not be so empty... but
then again, it should also not be so expensive. Good service, nice soups
and a memorable crawfish dish are just a few of the reasons why a visit
is in order.
Simply well done! The more we prod their cattle, the more tender and juicy
it seems to get. Careful attention is paid to every detail, from the service
to the sauces. As resident diners, we suggest starting with the mussel
appetiser, followed by the filet cooked to your preference and topped
with a bevy of sauces, of which the pomegranate seems the most sensual.
There is no need to tiptoe around their tapenade either; it is a delicious
coating for their breads. |
